Tea Gift Baskets

Tea Gift BasketsIt is December 1st! Do you have all your Holiday shopping done? I do not, so decided to do some exploring to see what kind of tea gift baskets that are available. I have several people on my list that either love tea or have expressed an interest in learning more about all the great loose tea selections available.

To help make your shopping easier, here are some of the great tea gift baskets that I have found:

  • American Tea Room's Bento Box Origin Collection. This hefty tea gift has eight teas packaged in a beautiful black lacquer bento box. It includes Organic Silver Needles, Honyama Sencha, Long Jing, Bao Zhong Royale, Qimen imperial, Ceylon, Maharajah and Pu Er imperial.
  • Teavana Tea Gift SetTeavana Tea Gift Set. This includes four of their most popular teas along with a perfect tea scoop ( I have one and love it!), a PerfecTea maker. The teas include My Morning Mate, Strawberry Lemonade, Fruta Bomba Green Tea, and Rooibos Chai. It is everything they will need to make a perfect cup of tea.
  • Dammann Freres Coffret 1925. This collection of four teas with an infuser is in a stylish metal box. It contains Goute Russe, Jardin Bleu, Paul and Virginie, and Melange Mysterieux. These tea blends were made in France.

  • One last one from American Tea Room. Their Signature Black Gift Set (also available in white) contains three of my favorite teas from them along with a beautiful tea pot and two tea cups. It also has some rock candy swizzlers and a tea prep guide. It is wrapped in white linen gift wrap and tied with a bow.

Decaf Loose Tea

Decaf Loose TeaDecaf Loose Tea is a great choice when you are looking for a caffeine free tea or loose tea for children. Some of my favorite ones are Rooibos tea blends. There are also a large number of herbal varieties. Let's talk about my favorite ones.

  • American Tea Room St. Tropez - This is a green rooibos that is blended with red currants, rose petals, and blue mallow blossoms. This is a great tea that is great hot or iced.
  • Teavana Rooibos Peach Bloom Tea - This is a blend of green and red rooibos that also includes peach and safflower.  I also love to blend it with their Strawberry Kiwi Herbal Tea.
  • Chamomille Tea - When ever I want to relax or want a good night's sleep, then I reach for the Chamomille tea in the cabinet. Typically made from the flower blossoms, this sweet tea is known for its calming properties.
  • Teavana Strawberry Lemonade Herbal Tea - With summer coming, thoughts are turning to iced tea. This is a great tea blend for that and your kids will love it.

If you are looking for a great Decaf Loose Tea these are some great ones to try. Please share your favorite ones in the comments below. I am always on the lookout for new ones to try.

Tea Recipes from Around the Web

I’m not the only one who can come up with some delicious tea blends! Here are a few samplings from some internet neighbors.

Green Chai Spa Tea blend from Epicurious is a delightfully spicy, yet simple beverage that will perk up your afternoon snack. The ingredients are easily obtained from your local health food or herb supply store. I recommend merely sweetening with raw sugar.

Fruits from Washington offers up a wonderful Red Summer Tea recipe. Again, these herbs are pretty easy to obtain and result in a tangy, sweet taste that is perfectly complimented by a squeeze of honey. Serve with your favorite muffin for a lovely breakfast.

Relaxation Herbal Tea is the perfect way to end your hectic day. Chamomile relaxes the nerves, while oat straw, hibiscus, and rose petals nourish the body. I think you’ll find this blend to be a regular evening drink.

I very much love the ingredients used in the Less Stress Tea by Ladies Blend. The flower aromas of lavender, chamomile, and rose will lift your spirits as the peppermint, lemon balm, and catnip strengthen your nervous system. Serve this one up whenever you feel overwhelmed, sad, or discouraged.

For a beverage to jazz up your afternoon snack or your dessert platter, Moroccan Mint Tea makes a delicious choice. Definitely follow the directions to the letter and steep exactly as recommended to prevent a tea that is too bitter. I think you’ll find this one to be an unusual treat.

The world of teas and tisanes is never-ending. I hope you leap at the chances to explore new tastes.
