I love crafts with a tea theme to them. Today I want to share these Teacup Candles from Design Sponge. What a great use of old teacups found in thrift stores.

You will need some microwavable soy wax, wicks, hot glue gun, a thermometer, a microwavable container, and if you want to add color and scent them some dye and candle scent.

I'm wondering if you could add some tea leaves to the hot wax to add color and scent. I'm definitely going to try it.

I love double walled tea cups. Generally they don't have a handle and I love the smoothness and ability to hold the cup from any side.  Some of the best known are these Bodum double walled tea cups.

The double wall helps to insulate your hand from the heat of the liquid inside. And it also gives the tea a neat appearance as it appears suspended in thin air. They are made from borosilicate-glass to withstand both hot and cold liquids.

You can get just the Bodum tea cup or they also make an infuser tea cup that has a lid and steeping basket to make a single cup of loose tea. After steeping the lid holds the steeping basket to contain any liquid when the tea leaves drain. This version comes in black, green, orange, and red. Pretty and functional too!

Recently I received a package from Tea Forte and I am really excited to share it with you. It contained the new Kati Loose Tea System and samples of their new individually packaged loose leaf tea. They have created a simple way to brew loose tea.

It is a double walled ceramic mug that contains a stainless steel steeping basket and is topped with a lid to retain heat. The mug holds 12 ounces and is dishwasher safe (always a plus for me). You can get it in white, green, or with a grass print.

The perfect pairing is Tea Forte's Loose Tea Single Steeps. They have packaged five of their popular loose teas in easy to open, single serving packets. All you need to do is tear off the top, pour into the steeping basket, and add hot water. Green Tango, Chamomile Citron, Earl Grey, Forte Breakfast, and Ginger Lemongrass are available.

I really enjoyed the Green Tango. It is an organic green tea that is described as a Chinese Jade Wing green tea that is blended with South African green honeybush and tropical mangoes. A luscious blend that is smooth, fruity, and naturally sweet. I liked blend of peppermint and ginger that lingered on my tongue after drinking.

I highly recommend this mug. It is both beautiful and practical. I usually use mugs with handles, but I really like the smoothness of this mug and the double walled style means my hand is not overly hot when holding it.

One of my favorite tea cups is my Steepware Steeping Mug. I use it pretty much every day to brew loose tea. The reason I love it so much is that in comes in three pieces: mug, lid, and steeping basket.

It is all ceramic and the steeping basket rests inside of the mug perfectly. The lid helps keep the tea warm while it is steeping. Then you just flip it over and it creates a cradle for the steeping basket to sit in. That way you don't get a wet mess on your counter or desk when you pull the steeping basket out.

About the only thing I don't like about it is that the holes in the steeping basket are just the right shape and size for rooibos tea to go through. After the tea is done brewing though, I generally let it sit for a few minutes to cool anyway and the tea leaves that do get through sink to the bottom of the mug.

P.S. I tried the tip from Jessica and it worked like a charm. I added the hot water to the cup first and then added the steeping basket with Rooibos tea into it. Very cool to watch the water swirl into. Anyway there is only a small number of tea leaves in the bottom of my cup. This tip has made a great mug even better!

While out and about today, I found these neat tea to go cups and wanted to share. It is a travel tumbler with a built in tea infuser basket. On the lid there is a little lever that swings the basket into the water. When the tea is done steeping, you just lift it out of the water and it tucks away in the lid.

It is dishwasher safe, which is a huge time saver for me and fits in my car's cup holder. I'm on the go a lot and love to bring tea with me wherever I go.  Oh and the lid snaps shut, so no spills either.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I usually brew a cup of loose tea to go in the morning.  Since then a few people have asked me to suggest the perfect loose tea to go cup and here are a few that I have found.

This Chocolate Tea Thermos is perfect for making loose tea on the go.  It has a built in tea infuser that can be removed when the tea is done steeping.  It is double walled to help keep your tea hot or cold, whichever you prefer.  It is sized to fit in most car cup holders, making it perfect for taking with you on errands or your morning commute.

There is also a great travel Tea Press too.  You lift the plunger, place your loose tea inside, along with hot water and let it steep.  Once it is done, you just push the plunger down, which contains all of the tea leaves on the bottom.  This is great for traveling because you don't need to worry about finding a place to put a tea infuser with the used leaves when the steeping is done.

If you want to go for pure beauty along with functionality, there is also this wonderful tea to go cup.  It holds 16 ounces of tea and comes with a built in tea strainer.  It is also a great mug to steep flowering teas in too.  Just place the tea in the bottom, add hot water, and watch it unfold.
